History & Foundation

Late Mr. A. Dhungel, the owner of the land and house was involved in a lot of social works so it was his idea that prompted the initiation of School by the name of Green Dale. The name was derived from the fact that the area was located in the environment surrounded by green trees and shrubs so the name aptly blended with the surroundings.
The school was started with mere 5 students in the year 1994.

Emblem

The emblem symbolizes the dissemination of knowledge for better career guidance of awareness about available opportunities and prospects and to endorse social and moral values.

Green Dale is now looking increasingly towards its “family” for support. We are encouraging alumni, parents and friends who feel strongly about the importance of the School’s place within the Sikkimese educational scene to make financial contributions to help ensure its future.

To this end, the Green Dale’s School Foundation was established in 1994. The Foundation is a registered charitable society which has the sole aim of providing opportunities for people to support Green Dale School through donations, sponsorships, bequests and other forms of planned  gifts.

As a charitable society, donations to the Foundation qualify for a charitable gift taxation rebate. The Foundation will exist as a separate entity with its own Board or Society and with its own Chairman or President, but will be subject to the over-riding veto of the Society Board of Green Dale Educational Society .
